The itty bitty pink Sansa Clip by SanDisk with accessory pink earbuds. Julie loves the ones she got for her birthday.Music? Easiest question ever on Mobspin. The classics, of course. Endgames, Talk Talk, ABC, Squeeze, Heaven 17, New Order, etc.
For my kids, music isn't captivating enough for long plane rides. We'd get more out of a Leapster (with headphones, so they're not bothering others).
One of our favorite cd's is called 'Gather Round'. I love the Willie Nelson song, 'I'm my own grandpa', Tom Paxton's 'Jennifer's Rabbit', Carol King's 'Chicken Soup with Rice', etc.But my kids like music in the car, not on a flight. I have to agree with Emily that leapster is great for flights. But if you don't want to go that route, I found that my boys are also happy enough with the excitement of the airport and the plane, and a variety of new toys/activities including crayons, coloring books, sticker books, and small toys. And of course, we take snacks too! Good luck.
Personally, I would shell out the $150 to get them an iPod Nano. One of the main reasons is that you can limit the volume level on the nano and I'm pretty sure you can not do that on the shuffle. These kids love to crank up the volume and atleast you can have a little bit of control over the decibels. Plus then you can put photos and games on it--and the kids can see a pic of the music they are listening to. The cost is limiting...but you could buy 1 and use a dual headphone jack thingy. Good luck!
Is this the one you are referring to? It looks cheaper than the ones on the leapfrog website...this is a good idea, and I may do this instead of the iPod, or in addition
Yes, that's the one (except ours isn't pink ;). Take a look at the cartridges and what they say they teach. Toby has sort of grown out of them, though he still likes them (especially when Rafe has been playing them). But then, that's Toby.
Not directly about iPod or music, but my husband recently found this product http://www.ihearsafe.com/and I really like the idea of a headphone that keeps the volume down no matter what.
