Useful Baby Shower Presents - Stroller or "Grab Bag"

What is a good stroller (maybe includes a car seat) for under $200. I'm going to a Baby Shower of some very close friends this weekend.

If I can't find the stroller, what type of "grab bag" products can I compile (diapers, bottles, onesies??) that will be the most useful to this young couple (first kid, not yet born).

I actually have a Baptism in a couple of weeks for a 1 year old. Any thoughts??

you could go with something like the maclaren that I reviewed below, and buy a compatible car seat together probably for under 200$.

I have not personally used this exact stroller. however, strollers like this are quite handy in that they are lightweight, portable and fold easily. good for the mall and allow you to pop the car seat in. in addition, maclaren products are usually high quality.

for the 1 year old, I recommend the aquarium toy that I reviewed below

Small-star-onSmall-star-onSmall-star-onSmall-star-onSmall-star-on  Great crib toy

Pros:

durable; keeps baby's attention while still soothing

Cons:

this is much better than a mobile, whose days are numbered once they start standing in the crib. The lights, movement and soft music do wonders at keeping baby's attention while lulling them to sleep. Attaches to the side of the crib, and can take a beating.

Small-star-onSmall-star-onSmall-star-onSmall-star-onSmall-star-on  this toy has staying power

when 7 year old kids come over to our house, they can spend the whole time on the ball popper, playing with the 8 month old, who also enjoys it. we got one that broke after about a year, and got another one to replace it. we also have given it as a gift to other folks, and see that it gets quite a bit of usage at their house too.

For grab bag gifts, I've always thought that you can't have too many leak-proof pads or just the plain white cloth diapers. I also liked receiving board books. Fancy baby care products are nice, since many people don't buy them for themselves. I liked Mustela's wipes and diaper creams.

Ride-on toys or push carts are great for one-year-olds.

Happy shopping!
