Garment Steamer

I hate to iron, and I'm not that good at it, and I miss the ironing guys in India. So can anyone recommend (or offer an opinion) on garment steamers?

I've heard they are easier and faster than ironing. True or false?

And if it is worth it, how much should I spend for one that gives the same result as ironing?

We just bought the Tobi at Costco for i think $80 and love it! The only small downside is that you need to clean out the innards due to the minerals from the water, unless you use distilled water, which we went out and bought a few jugs.

It gets out the wrinkles really quickly and doesn't require an ironing board. I'm a big recommender.

Let me know if you have other questions about it.

How serious are you? Anything by Rowenta. Pay > $50 for an Iron. Or go for ~>$150 for a steamer. Depends on the quality of clothes you're touching up. A high-end steamer will preserve your suits, dress shirts, slacks. Try Bed, bath & Beyond.

Paul and Delia,
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated, and will let you know what I get. I'm looking for deals. The info about the different makes is a big help.
