Backpacking the Lost Coast and/or Trinity Alps

I'm planning a backpacking trip to the Lost Coast/Trinity Alps in September with 5 other people. I'm interested in your first-hand account of your trip with details of logistics and reservations. The beach or mountains? Interested in your thoughts.

Hi Bob,
Let me see if I can find Avery's email address. He goes to the Lost Coast almost every weekend (seriously). I'd vote for the mountains. We went to Trinity Alps a number of years ago and did the Canyon Creek Falls trail. The trail follows a river with waterfall after waterfall. Lots of swimming opportunities that felt almost like a shampoo commercial. Its a bit of a slog but well worth it.

I don't think we needed reservations (possibly a permit) but it is one of the more popular trails.

Hi K, I heard it said if you can take only one trip into the T-Alps, Canyon Creek is the best choice. Thanks for the insight.

Yeah, please forward his address if you can dig that up. Some of my people say its an ATV haven, but I think they are nuts.
