Pediatrician recommendation in Silicon Valley?

I need to find a pediatrician for my 1-year-old in the Mountain View/Los Altos area. Any recommendations?

Dr. Mary Halpin

She is really good with the kids and very knowledgeable. The kids look forward to doctors office trips. However, sometimes she lays on a guilt trip. for example

my 3 year old twins were still drinking from bottles and every appt. she would nag me about getting rid of them

she wants me to cut grapes up before I give them to my 2 year old, since she gets really excited about choking hazards.

she never wants to heavily medicate sick children - its always about the steam bath treatment.

On the other hand, she was behind me on the sleep training that I wanted to do for all my kids and gave me the go ahead pretty early. She gets the insanity...

She is pretty relaxed about all the "developmental milestones" and growth charts etc.

My kids have never been really sick though, so I can't say how that would work out.

We love our pediatrician, Dr. Lloyd Brown at PAMF Los Altos. He might not be taking new patients right now, but you could give it a try. The other pediatricians in that practice are good, too. I also like Dr. Ghaffari.

We've been going to that clinic for 5 years, with 3 kids, and have been happy with it. It's easy to get a same-day appointment for semi-urgent issues, the waiting room is spacious and clean, and the nurses are good.

We use Mary Halpin, and my wife Rita LOVES LOVES her. Everyone raves about her too. She's very good with the kids and helping our special needs son. When we adopted she knew all the adoption screening to do and took charge of everything. We can't say enough great things about her.
