Congrats on the new setup. I am partial to the Denon and Onkyo receivers and was looking at something similar to this before deciding to stick with my current Denon receiver (non-HDMI, so I run cables directly from the DirecTV box and Blu-Ray to the TV). A few things to watch out for based on my research: It's worth a few extra bucks to buy local from a store with a good return policy. My installers told me that some HD sources, particularly satellite, have trouble interfacing with the new A/V receivers, causing audio delay. Hard to be sure how this will play out, making the desire to return a possibility. Be aware that the HDMI standard is constantly being updated. This is kind of annoying and almost requires that you research what the current standard is (Best Buy was selling an otherwise nice Yamaha on an outdated standard when I was looking) and what improvements are planned in the next standard. Do you need a phono input? I'm still wed to my old B&O turntable (without a built-in pre-amp) and that really limited the choices to higher end models. Try to avoid the temptation to buy one of those all in one receiver-speaker combinations. Sets by Sony, Samsung and Panasonic are all over the big chains but usually at least one component is of marginal quality. Deals can still be had with combinations that mix strong components, e.g., Circuit City is now packaging Denon receivers with Boston Acoustics speakers.
