I think I may have stumbled on one of the better options for hands-free phone use.

This light device is pretty cool. It clips to your car's visor, so if you feel like you just won't look cool without a flashing blue thingie hanging from your ear, it's not for you. Otherwise...

Sound quality: I haven't done a lot of comparison-shopping, but it sounds loud and clear, and so far folks have been able to hear me just fine. It does have some noise/echo cancellation technology.

Other cool stuff:

* Text-to-speech for announcing calls. It sucked up all my contacts out of my iPhone (and Debby's LG phone) without a hitch, and now announces calls. Listening to how "she" guesses the pronunciation of folks' names is half the fun. Anglophiles can even give her a British accent. (Note that it doesn't auto-sync new contacts or changes -- you have to reload all of them if you want to do that by pressing and holding a button).

* I haven't had it long enough to verify, but they claim
800 hrs per charge on standby and 15 hrs talk time. Not bad.

* Vibration sensor to notice when your door opens or closes to automatically attempt reconnection.

* Clever magnet/clip system that makes it very easy to switch the device from the front or back of your visor, or move it to a different car (it comes with a second clip).

* Voice answering, though I haven't tried it yet -- can't vouch for whether it works well or not.

* Voice dialing (if your phone supports it). Haven't tried this either.

* 2 yr warranty -- seems pretty rare these days for any consumer device to have that long a warranty.

Note Amazon (from whom I got it) is currently out of stock. At $85, it seems pretty reasonably priced to me.
